Nelson came through Lochaber RC and Murrayfield Wanderers and had a spell with Montpellier before joining Loughborough Lightning in 2020. She has won more than 70 caps for Scotland and captained the side at the 2021 Women's Six Nations. She previously captained Scotland Sevens.
